Kyoshi Norm Beauchamp

Kyoshi Norm Beauchamp is a 7th degree black belt in CAN RYU Jiu-Jitsu.  With over 40 years of martial arts experience, Kyoshi Norm is known around the world as a high energy, knowledgeable instructor with the ability to motivate anybody.  In addition to his unique teaching abilities, Kyoshi Norm’s martial arts career includes a number of gold medals in international competitions for jiu-jitsu, point fighting and sport jiu-jitsu, where he earned the title of World Champion in the late 1990s.

Kyoshi Norm started teaching jiu-jitsu in Chesterville in 1993 and officially opened the dojo on John Street in January 2000. As  the Chief Instructor and co-owner of Therien Martial Arts & Fitness Centre, Kyoshi Norm is responsible for overseeing all programs, specifically jiu-jitsu and kickboxing.  He is a regular instructor for all jiu-jitsu classes, as well as both cardio and Pro Kick kickboxing classes. In addition to overseeing the progress of all students, Kyoshi Norm also coaches the competitive Sport Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing athletes of the school.

Renshi Carol holds a 4th degree black belt in jiu-jitsu and has over 20 years of experience in the martial arts. She is well known in both the community and the martial arts world for her high energy classes and enthusiasm. As a co-owner of Therien Martial Arts & Fitness Centre, Renshi Carol not only teaches all classes, but she is responsible for the overall management of the dojo. Renshi Carol is also a Gold Certified Pro Kick Member and a Certified Personal Trainer.

Renshi Daniel Gasser

Renshi Daniel Gasser

Renshi Daniel has been in the martial arts for over 20 years and holds a 4th degree black belt in jiu-jitsu. He’s an instructor for all levels of jiu-jitsu and is known for his up-beat, fast pace classes. Renshi Daniel both competes in and coaches students for competitions in sport jiu-jitsu, point fighting and kickboxing.

Sensei Scott Vetter

Sensei Scott Vetter

Sensei Scott has been a member of Therien Jiu-Jitsu Chesterville since the mid-90s. In that time, he’s contributed to producing many of the black belts in the dojo, including his daughter. As a third degree black belt, Sensei Scott teaches regularly in the children’s classes and is one of the primary instructors of the Essential Self Defence Program.

Sensei Chris Johnson

Sensei Chris Johnson

Sensei Chris is a second degree black belt and has been training in at Therien Chesterville for almost 15 years. An instructor in the adult jiu-jitsu classes, students benefit not only from his vast knowledge of CAN RYU jiu-jitsu, but also his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (grappling).

Carol Beauchamp

Carol is a Gold Certified Pro Kick member and Certified Personal Trainer, and teaches both Cardio Kickboxing and Pro Kick. She is known in the dojo, the community and throughout the martial arts as a high energy fitness leader who pushes her students to their limits with intense cardio workouts, and always with a smile. Carol uses both her knowledge of kickboxing and jiu-jitsu (4th degree black belt) to teach students the technical aspects of kickboxing.

Leslie Johnson

Leslie Johnson

Leslie is a Gold Certified Pro Kick member and an instructor for Pro Kick and Cardio Kickboxing classes. She has been part of the dojo for nearly 15 years and delivers unique classes with a positive attitude every time every time she teaches, while guaranteeing a challenging physical workout. Leslie is also working towards her black belt in the Therien Jiu-Jitsu Essential Self Defence program.
